When the decision where to live is between an apartment and house, the pros and cons must be considered of each. However, the choice may be a clear one. In case, the decision is not clear, here are several advantages to living in an apartment in Sri Lanka.

Amenities

Amenities which include a tennis court, swimming pool and a gymnasium are things people wish they could have in their homes. However, not everyone has the budget for it. Many apartment complexes offer these amenities in the hope of attracting new tenants and retaining existing ones.

Maintenance & Repair

If you own a house, as the homeowner you have the sole responsibility of maintenance and repair of your home. However, when it comes to living in an apartment in Sri Lanka the owner of the apartment complex will take on that responsibility. The tenant doesn’t have to see to the air condition not working, the dishwasher breaking, the sink clogging or toilet backups. The sole responsibility lies with the landlord when it comes to apartment maintenance and repairs.

Security

There is security around the clock when living in an apartment. Some apartment complexes are gated, whilst others have security at the apartment complex entrance. Individual apartments will have alarm settings. If you are a homeowner, many of these security systems would be too costly to afford on your own.

Short Term Residence

If you want a place to live on a short term basis, there’s no better choice than living in an apartment in Sri Lanka. The lease can be negotiated to fit the time period or you can negotiate a month to month lease.     

Affordability

Living in an apartment maybe more affordable than living in a house in a particular location. The small space is going to cost you less as it is possible to the apartment is close to public transport and walking which means you can cut down on using the car often.    

Apartments are the way of the future. There’s a rapid increase for flats and units between population booming and soaring house prices. Sharing a building with a number of different people, singles and families will build a sense of community which will hopefully lead to making new friends. This rings true when living in an apartment complex with extra amenities because it allows the luxury of indulging in recreational activities with each other.     

 

Whilst you may not be able to afford to buy a house in a trendy suburb, you may very well be able to afford living in an apartment in an inner city suburb. Generally, apartment complexes are built in areas close to shops, restaurants, public transport and entertainment. Your lifestyle will change once you live in an apartment in Sri Lanka. You will start connecting with the community, getting out more, getting some fresh air and stretching your legs to check up on your friends!
